Call for Pin-up artists....'Pin-ups for Privates!'

'Pin-ups for Privates' is a collaborative book project showcasing the best military themed pin-up art from around the world.

All profits from the book will go to Help for Heroes, a British charity launched in 2007 to help provide better facilities for wounded British servicemen and women - click here for more info.

As a former serviceman myself, this is a charity that is very close to my heart and I am currently looking for military themed pin-up illustration submissions from artists who would like to be part of this very worthy cause.

I am expecting this to be a very popular and high profile project as the H4H charity has attracted support from national newspapers such as The Sun and The Times so if you would like to donate illustrations for inclusion in the book, please email me at andyscreen@anjaradesign.com with a maximum of 3 lo-resolution examples of military themed pin-up art.

I'll be posting regular updates on this project as it progresses so go on, show your support for our troops and get drawing!

After nearly a year of wanton neglect, I've dusted off the malnourished child that is my blog and have force-fed it with some sexiful pictorials to bring it back up to fighting weight.

To celebrate the unseasonably warm weather we've been having here in the UK I thought I'd fight off the childhood demons of the creepy bloke with thick coke bottle glasses in the Mr Softee van (you know, the one who always licked his lips at all the kids and you never knew why) and declare 'Miss Softee!' the new queen of the '99. Thanks for licking....I mean looking ;)

In these times dominated by PC wetbacks, it's refreshing to cast a nostalgic eye back to the days when a movie starlet could smoke a cigarette without courting outrage amongst the suburban tree-huggers! Camel....Pleasure the Groove is my own personal homage to the 1940s combined with the heady days of cigarette advertising...oh, and a perfect excuse for a knicker shot (not that you really need one).

Everyone loves a Coke (and a smile) & here's my 50s inspired take on some classic tooth rotting Adver 'Tease Me' ent. This little number is my own take on a classic Vargas pose.

With 2 days to go until the big day, here's some festive cheesecake for the table - no jolly (if slightly pervie) fat men here constantly promising to 'come' down yer chimney, just the jingletastic jangling of those 'Jingle Balls'. Alliteration aside (as well as a bit of a Sid James laugh) I hope that everyone will have a thoroughly anti-climactic Xmas - personally I'm looking forward to an afternoon snooze in front of 'Holiday on the Buses'.
